Ensuring Safety for Every Resident on Our Streets
This is a top priority — and one Councilwoman Tiffanie Fisher has been leading from the start. As Mayor, she will put an end to the reckless e-bike riding that has left too many residents feeling unsafe.
Direct Hoboken Police and HPU officers to increase enforcement of the Tests & Vests ordinance
Expand accountability by requiring restaurants to use only registered riders wearing safety vests.
Mandate app-based delivery platforms to obtain a Hoboken permit, carry liability insurance, and eliminate algorithms that promote reckless riding.
Increase public education and visibility to ensure riders, restaurants, and residents understand the rules and consequences for violations.
Tiffanie co-authored Hoboken’s “Tests & Vests” law to require delivery riders to pass a basic safety test and wear high-visibility vests. Mayor Bhalla and his City Council allies tried to block it every step of the way, but she got it passed — because protecting public safety should never be a political decision.
“You can hold me accountable for making sure this is enforced, expanded, and actually working — because responsibility starts and ends with the Mayor.”
— Tiffanie Fisher
