Councilwoman Tiffanie Fisher Announces Run for Hoboken Mayor
Trusted public servant and proven leader with a history of delivering real results pledges to bring experience, strength, and a renewed focus on quality of life, transparency, and community.
HOBOKEN, NJ – Councilwoman Tiffanie Fisher, now in her third term and widely recognized as Hoboken’s most hardworking and trusted elected official, announced today that she is running for Mayor in the November 2025 election. She has launched a campaign website at tiffanieforhoboken.com and invites supporters to attend her official kickoff friendraiser and fundraiser on Monday, April 7, from 6:30 to 8:30 PM at Moran’s, located at 501 Garden Street in Hoboken.
Fisher emphasized her long-standing commitment to Hoboken, her results-driven record, and the urgent need for experienced, decisive leadership—grounded in her 23-year career as a finance and real estate executive—to meet the challenges the city now faces.
“Hoboken’s story is community. We are a strong, passionate, and resilient city — a place like no other,” said Fisher. “ But we’re also at a crossroads, facing real challenges that affect our quality of life every day — from safety to affordability, and from how our city grows to how it responds to the needs of its residents. This is a moment that calls for strong, experienced leadership and a City Hall that works for everyone. That’s why I’m proud to announce that I’m running for mayor.”
Over the last nine years on the City Council, Fisher has built a reputation as a hands-on, solutions-driven advocate who dives deep and gets things done for Hoboken. She’s a member of the Vision Zero Task Force and has led efforts to improve pedestrian safety citywide—installing stop signs, new traffic signals, and safer intersections—and co-authored Hoboken’s “Tests and Vests” legislation to help mitigate the risks of e-bike food delivery drivers. When City Hall was slow to act on the city’s rat crisis, Fisher pushed forward aggressive mitigation measures that are now being implemented across Hoboken. She has been a strong voice for returning to community policing and is leading the effort to initiate a neighborhood watch program to build stronger connections between residents and law enforcement. Fisher secured Hoboken’s uptown waterfront from private development and has been a leading advocate for expanding open space throughout the city. And as a resolute defender of tenants’ rights, she’s knocked on doors, passed out flyers, and helped residents organize against rent hikes and threats to rent control protections.
Fisher sees a future for Hoboken where residents feel safe walking in our parks and along our streets, where city services meet the expectations of the people who pay for them, where development puts current residents first, and where local government does everything it can to keep Hoboken affordable for everyone. To deliver on that vision, she has outlined the following priorities:
Building trusted partnerships with our schools, police, and first responders
Creating a culture of safety where everyone—drivers, cyclists, and pedestrians—is accountable for protecting one another
Keeping Hoboken clean and well-maintained—from eliminating the rat problem to improving parks and paving streets
Investing in green space, infrastructure, and long-term resiliency to secure Hoboken’s future
Protecting rent control, keeping taxes in check, and expanding access to affordable housing
Opening City Hall—ensuring local government is transparent, accessible, and accountable to the community it serves
In addition to her public service, Fisher brings over two decades of experience as a finance and real estate executive. She has led complex negotiations, restructured large organizations, and built multimillion-dollar budgets and capital strategies—skills she believes Hoboken needs now more than ever.
“I’ve always been a leader—whether as a finance executive, a youth soccer coach, a condo board president, or at the Council dais—solving tough problems, inspiring teamwork, and standing up for what’s best for our community,” said Fisher. “With over 20 years in the private sector, 15 years as a community leader, and 11 in public office, I bring the experience, commitment, and focus Hoboken deserves—and a deep belief in what’s possible when we put our community first and work toward the Hoboken we all deserve.”
Hoboken’s municipal elections are nonpartisan. Voters will elect the city’s next Mayor during the general election on Tuesday, November 4, 2025, with early voting and vote-by-mail options available.
